Theme painting

Hey guys! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and that you are looking forward to the new year as much as I am. Today I'm unveiling the first piece of our theme. What do you guys think?

I'm going to need about 6 or so more things to put in "space," so if anyone wants to help, feel free! After that, I'll slap them all together and update the theme. Happy Holidays!

And by the way, this blog is starting to look really nice with all of these great pieces on here. Great work everyone!

Work in Progress

Hey all,

In my excitement for the new Hobbit trailer, I felt inspired to draw some dwarves. Here are the early beginnings of a (hopefully) soon-to-be epic painting. Currently, I'm still messing around with the composition and lighting, but I'm going to lock it down soon. Any ideas on how I could improve it? Thanks!

Kemp

Hello Hello,

Just wanted to share a page from my to-be portfolio.

This is a character I did for a "potential" fighting game. Name is Kemp.

Now I'm not a 100% sure bout the lay out with the text and all that but I really have no experience with this kind of stuff. SO then I remembered I know these wonderful people from a blog who might know more than me. So I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions or know places to go where I can look at some examples or something of the kind

Appreciated!

Fun with the Lasso tool

Hey guys!

Recently started doing some lasso tool paintings. They're actually a lot of fun! I'm trying to work straight in color now as well. This is my second attempt at it and like I said I think it's really therapeutic and refreshing.

Lemme know if you guys like!

It's just some dude and his spaceship!

Theme Ideas

Hey everyone,

Glad to see some awesome posts lately! I've have been working on some stuff, but it isn't quite ready to be shown yet. However, the theme is underway, and I would like to see what you all think. Okay, are you ready for this? Here it goes.....

BREAKFAST..................................IN..............................SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.

I think this would be fun thing to develop, and I hope others will jump in and add your own humorous elements to it, be it parody or visual pun.

However, if someone else has a fun theme that they think would fly better (unlikely, considering spaceships are involved, BOOM) then certainly feel free to suggest it. So what does everyone else think?

Debut! Gesundheit!

Hi all!

This is my first post, as well. I've been wanting to post on this thing so bad. But (as you may or may not know), I'm currently smack dab in the middle of developing my first graphic novel (www.dustbunnycomic.com). Subsequently, all of my free time for art has to be dedicated towards that endeavor, or commission work. So, as a complete and total cop out, I rummaged through some artwork from last year and found something I was really happy with.

I chose this one for two reasons. First, I love the Blues Brother and I totally forgot that I did this. And secondly, when I posted it on my website last year, I'm not so sure anyone really saw it. So I'm bringing it back, like a zombie. Oooo...zombie Blues Brothers.

The Bruise Brothers. With hits like, "Soulless Man" and "Everybody Needs Some...body." I can smell the dollars from here...

Thanks for starting this blog, Steven! Everyone's art looks great!

Hello!

Hi everyone! First post to the blog. Wanted to show some of the process of some of the stuff I've been working on. I'm supposed to design this "alien big guy" in a prison scene.
I didn't want to do the stereotypical fat alien dude. But more of a really tall almost aboriginal like figure. So he's not supposed to be straight evil but I wanted people to react to him like they're not entirely sure what to think of him, which is why I thought a lack of eyes would be a step in the right direction, with almost a mystical feel to him.

These are the final three I'm trying to decide from, let me know what you guys think! It's greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Gerland

Blog Theme Under Construction

Hey everyone! I'm working on the theme for the blog. In the meantime, why don't we all introduce ourselves so that everyone has a good idea of the kind of work you do. Along with a brief introduction, include one of your favorite pieces you've done, be it sketch or finished work. Feel free to add links to your other online work too!

Here is a link to my blog: http://stevenroberson.blogspot.com/

And this is one of my favorite pieces I've completed. I completed this a while back during head drawing. We had been learning so much information about proportion and basic forms, but we hadn't really tried to draw an entire head. So--when we had a free 20 minutes with the model--I just went for it. It became a mixture of the information I had learned from Professor Hudson and what I observed. It isn't a perfect portrait of the model, but it was a landmark in my education.

Point Blank

Exactly a year ago, we have a concept of creating a series of Black & White illustrations that reflects the society. Soon, those illustrations went into galleries and we were able to sell them within three months. It was the first time our illustrations were sold in a public exhibition. From then on, we planned a bigger ambition, " To have our own gallery one day".

We are still doing the illustrations in black and white simply because of our obsession with simplicity, something our idol Steve Jobs adored greatly. A lot of our friends have suggested turning them into color versions but doesn't white contain all the spectrum in color? So today, we thought we'll post one of the many illustrations that we have been secretly hiding.

Hope you like it!
