Point Blank

Exactly a year ago, we have a concept of creating a series of Black & White illustrations that reflects the society. Soon, those illustrations went into galleries and we were able to sell them within three months. It was the first time our illustrations were sold in a public exhibition. From then on, we planned a bigger ambition, " To have our own gallery one day".

We are still doing the illustrations in black and white simply because of our obsession with simplicity, something our idol Steve Jobs adored greatly. A lot of our friends have suggested turning them into color versions but doesn't white contain all the spectrum in color? So today, we thought we'll post one of the many illustrations that we have been secretly hiding.

Hope you like it!

  1. That's a funny way to look at the color spectrum, Nicky. If you made more pieces around that concept, it could be a fun series.

This image has a really interesting effect on me as a viewer. It seems to pull me between 2 and 3 dimensions, which is a lot of fun. It alludes to depth, but the warping and straight line make it clear it is flat. I'm no good at deeper meanings, but I can really feel the tension in the picture. I feel stretched.

I remember that exhibition. It was a great grouping of work. Your pictures had a nice sincerity to them. Keep it up man!

  2. Hey thanks man, you know, I can't draw realistic figures and I've always admired people who can do it like yourself! That's why I have to find ways to cheat and do stuff like this. LOLx. But ya, it is a really fun series. I have lots of them ongoing and when the time is right i'll make them into a book with little excerpts. Its that kickstarter book that I've said so many times that I want to do but yet haven't finished.
